There are two types of butterfly valves, wafer and lug. Both types of butterfly valves have different characteristics. In Lug type butterfly valves, since each flange has its own bolts, it is possible to clean, inspect and repair the valve without completely shutting down the system. On the other hand, wafer type butterfly valves are designed to prevent backflow in one-way flow systems. They have high sealing and protect the system against two-way pressure difference. Both valve types have their own subtypes.
