Hygiene in foodstuffs is extremely important. Therefore, the Heat Exchangers used in food applications are produced completely stainless. Foodstuff only comes into contact with stainless surfaces and special seals that have a food compatibility certificate (FDA). Some of the systems used in this field are as follows.
Plate Coolers
- Raw Milk Cooler (Single / Double Stage)
- Buttermilk Cooler (Double Stage)
- White Cheese Cooler (Regeneration)
Plate Heaters
- White Cheese Warmer
- Cheddar Cheese Warmer
- Yogurt and Milk Warmer
- C.I.P. Solution Warmer
Plate Pasteurization Systems
- Drinking Milk Pasteurization
- White Cheese Pasteurization
- Cheddar Cheese Pasteurization
- Yogurt - Buttermilk Pasteurization
- Butter Pasteurization
- Brine Pasteurization
- Milk Pasteurization
Milk, which is one of the basic foodstuffs, is a foodstuff that is difficult to produce and collect, as well as to store it in a healthy way for a long time. For this reason, various ways have been tried in order to preserve it for a long time throughout history, and finally, pasteurization technology has been developed. Pasteurization is the process of rapidly raising milk to high temperatures and then lowering the temperature again. In this way, the bacteria in the milk are neutralized and the shelf life of the milk is extended. MIT Plate Heat Exchangers are designed in multi-stages in accordance with pasteurization. The biggest advantage of using a plate heat exchanger in pasteurization is that high regeneration values can be achieved.
The milk is in a cycle in the plate heat exchanger, so that the hot milk coming from the heating and going to the cooling stage and the cold milk going to the heating collide in the regenerating stage, and heat transfer is realized. Thanks to this energy-saving and time-saving system, the process is completed in a much shorter time and at much lower costs. Hygienic inlets and outlets for other equipment such as Separator, Homogenizer, Holder and Deaerator in Multistage MIT Plate Heat Exchangers are designed according to demand and delivered ready for assembly.
Yoghurt - Ayran Pasteurization
Yogurt, which is produced as a result of processes applied to milk, is a very suitable environment for bacteria to live and multiply, just like milk. Therefore, similar processes applied to milk are applied to yoghurt. MIT offers a perfect pasteurization solution by offering maximum performance in dense fluids such as yoghurt and ayran with its wide-range plate heat exchangers.
CIP Applications
Hygiene is of great importance in the processing of foodstuffs suitable for bacterial growth, such as milk and yogurt. In these applications, the entire processing line where the foodstuff is processed should be cleaned at regular intervals to prevent bacterial growth. This liquid used in cleaning is called CIP. This liquid must be circulated in the system at certain flow rates and at certain temperatures. MIT Plate Heat Exchangers are also used to keep the CIP fluid at desired temperatures.
Chemical Applications
Chemical fluids used in the chemical industry need to be heated or cooled according to the process. In order to obtain correct results, the correct temperature values should be used at every stage of the process. Heating can be done with steam or hot water, as well as cooling with sources such as cooling towers and chillers. The main problem in the chemical industry is the aggressiveness level of the chemical used. Aggressive chemicals pose a risk to both plates and gaskets in plate heat exchangers. That's why choosing the right plate and gasket is vital. In MIT Plate Heat Exchangers, a solution suitable for all kinds of fluids is produced with specific applications such as double-layer plates, different alloys and special viton gaskets.
