What are Gear Pumps?
MIT Gear pumps are valveless and positive displacement pumps. Every MIT pump is a custom solution. Gear pumps are completely designed to meet the requirements of the applications.
Features and Materials of MIT Gear Pumps
- Materials to be used in the pump varies according to the product transferred by the pump.
- Since the chemical and physical properties of each liquid are different, the interaction with the pump material differs.
- Due to the explanation above, the materials used in the pump are selected according to the liquid. For example, the bearings of the pump used in the transfer of a lubricating liquid are bronze, while the bearings of the pump used in the transfer of an acid sourced liquid are chosen as carbon.
- The parts of the pumps that transfer food, which come into contact with the liquid, must be completely made of stainless or Teflon material.
- After the pump material is determined, it is decided whether the pump is jacketed or unjacketed, depending on the need for the liquid to pass through the pump, therefore the pump needs to be heated or cooled.
- Soft and mechanical seal options are offered.
- Internal by-pass is optionally offered in pumps.
